Takashi Uchiyama's Boxing Career
Takashi Uchiyama was born in Nagasaki Prefecture, on November 10, 1979. He made his professional debut at the age of 25 years on July 16, 2005 against Chandet Sithramkamhaeng. Uchiyama defeated Sithramkamhaeng via 1st round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Uchiyama became a world champion at the age of 30 after 13 professional fights. He challenged Juan Carlos Salgado for the WBA super-featherweight title and stopped the champion in the final round of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
Uchiyama's last fight was a split decision loss to Jezreel Corrales at age 37, on December 31, 2016, in which he was fighting for the WBA (Super) super-featherweight title.
