Rocky Graziano (The Rock) was an American professional boxer. He was a middleweight world champion. In a career spanning 10 years, 5 months, and 17 days, Graziano amassed a record of 67-10-6, which includes 51 wins via KO, 1 of which was in a world-title fight. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1991.
Rocky Graziano was born in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. on January 1, 1919. He made his professional debut at the age of 23 years on March 31, 1942 against Curtis Hightower. Graziano defeated Hightower via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Graziano got his first shot at a world title at the age of 27 after 54 professional fights. On September 27, 1946 Graziano challenged Tony Zale's The Ring middleweight title but lost via 6th round KO.
He became a world champion on July 16, 1947 at the age of 28 years, after by defeating Tony Zale, the then-reining The Ring middleweight champion, via 6th round TKO. This was his 58th fight as a professional.
Graziano's last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Chuck Davey at age 33, on September 17, 1952.
