Aaron Pryor (The Hawk) was an American professional boxer. He was a super-lightweight world champion with 2 world-title wins and a world-championship elevation. In a career spanning 14 years and 22 days, Pryor amassed a record of 39-1, which includes 35 wins via KO, 9 of which were in world-title fights. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1996.
Aaron Pryor was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S. on October 20, 1955. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on November 12, 1976 against Larry Smith. Pryor defeated Smith via 2nd round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Pryor became a world champion fight at the age of 24 after 24 professional fights. He challenged Antonio Cervantes for the WBA and The Ring super-lightweight titles and stopped the champion in the 4th of the 15-round fight, winning his first world titles.
He then went on to successfully win the IBF super-lightweight world title as well.
Pryor's last fight was a 7th-round TKO victory over Roger Choate at age 35, on December 4, 1990.
