    Ryota Yamauchi loses to Junto Nakatani

    On April 9, 2022, a 27-year-old Ryota Yamauchi (8-1, 7 KOs) got a shot at the flyweight WBO title held by 24-year-old fellow Japanese boxer Junto Nakatani (22-0, 17 KOs).

    Yamauchi came in to the fight on a 4-fight win streak with a 77% KO rate, and was fighting after a gap of 9 months and 16 days. Nakatani was on a 22-fight win streak with a 77% KO rate, and fighting after a layoff of 6 months and 30 days.

    Junto Nakatani stopped Ryota Yamauchi via TKO in the 8th round of the 12-round world-title fight, and successfully defended his WBO flyweight title. Nakatani improves his record to 23-0 (18 KOs), while Yamauchi adds a loss to his record at 8-2.

    On March 30, 2019, a 24-year-old Ryota Yamauchi (4-0, 4 KOs) and Wulan Tuolehazi met in the ring in a flyweight bout.

    Yamauchi came in to the fight on a 4-fight win streak with a 100% KO rate, and was fighting after a gap of 5 months and 29 days.

    Ryota Yamauchi lost to Wulan Tuolehazi via unanimous decision in the 12-round flyweight fight, and adds an loss to his record at 4-1.
