Samart Payakaroon's Boxing Career
Samart Payakaroon was born in Chacherngsao, Thailand on December 5, 1962. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on August 24, 1982 against Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh. Payakaroon defeated Vorasingh via 10 round points decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Payakaroon became a world champion at the age of 23 after 11 professional fights. He challenged Lupe Pintor for the vacant WBC super-bantamweight title and stopped Pintor in the 5th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
Payakaroon's last fight was an 8th-round TKO loss to Eloy Rojas at age 31, on September 11, 1994, in which he was fighting for the WBA featherweight title.
