Bakhram Murtazaliev was born in Grozny, Russia on January 2, 1993. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on May 31, 2014 against Vasif Mamedov. Murtazaliev defeated Mamedov via 4-round unanimous decision, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Murtazaliev became a world champion at the age of 31 after 21 professional fights. He challenged Jack Culcay for the vacant IBF super-welterweight title and stopped Culcay in the 11th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
