Boxing Career
Edwin Valero (El Inca) was born in Bolero Alto, Mérida, Venezuela on December 3, 1981. He made his professional debut at the age of 20 years on July 9, 2002 against Eduardo Hernandez. Valero defeated Hernandez via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Valero became a world champion at the age of 24 after 19 professional fights. He challenged Vicente Mosquera for the WBA super-featherweight title and stopped the champion in the 10th of the 12-round fight, winning his first world title.
He then went on to successfully win the lightweight (WBC) titles also to become a two-division world champion.
Valero's last fight was a 9th-round RTD victory over Antonio DeMarco at age 28, on February 6, 2010, in which he successfully defended his WBC lightweight championship.
