David Morrell Jr.

David Morrell Jr. was born in Santa Clara, Cuba on January 18, 1998. He made his professional debut at the age of 21 years on August 31, 2019 against Yendris Rodriguez Valdez. Morrell Jr. defeated Valdez via 1st round KO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.

Morrell Jr. got elevated as the WBA (Regular) super-middleweight champion at the age of 23 after 5 professional fights, and had his first world-title defense fight against Mario Abel Cazares on June 27, 2021. He stopped Cazares in the 1st of the 12-round fight.

He then went on to successfully win the light-heavyweight (WBA) titles also to become a two-division world champion.

Morrell Jr.'s latest fight was a unanimous decision victory over Radivoje Kalajdzic at age 26, on August 3, 2024, in which he won the vacant WBA light-heavyweight world title.
