Richardson Hitchins was born in Brooklyn, New York City, U.S. on September 26, 1997. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 years on March 4, 2017 against Mario Alberto Perez Navarro. Hitchins defeated Navarro via 1st round TKO, making a successful beginning of his pro career.
Hitchins became a world champion at the age of 27 after 18 professional fights. He challenged Liam Paro for the IBF super-lightweight title and defeated the champion via 12-round split decision, winning his first world title.
