    Sultan Ibragimov loses to Wladimir Klitschko

    On February 23, 2008, the 32-year-old WBO heavyweight champion, Sultan Ibragimov (22-0-1, 17 KOs), and the 31-year-old IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (49-3, 43 KOs) met in a title-unification fight.

    Ibragimov came in to the fight on a 3-fight win streak with a 73% KO rate, and was fighting after a gap of 4 months and 10 days. Klitschko was on a 7-fight win streak with a 82% KO rate, and fighting after a layoff of 7 months and 16 days.

    Wladimir Klitschko defeated Sultan Ibragimov via unanimous decision and unifies the WBO and IBF heavyweight titles. Klitschko improves his record to 50-3, while Ibragimov adds a loss to his record at 22-1-1.
