    Kenshiro Teraji loses to Masamichi Yabuki in their 1st fight

    On September 22, 2021, the 29-year-old WBC light-flyweight world champion, Kenshiro Teraji (18-0, 10 KOs), faced a 29-year-old fellow Japanese boxer Masamichi Yabuki (12-3, 11 KOs), in a title defense fight.

    Teraji came in to the fight on a 18-fight win streak with a 55% KO rate, and was fighting after a gap of 4 months and 29 days. Yabuki was on a 5-fight win streak with a 73% KO rate, and fighting after a layoff of 8 months and 27 days.

    Masamichi Yabuki stopped the champion via TKO in the 10th round of the 12-round world-title fight, winning the first world title of his career, and is crowned the new WBC light-flyweight champion. Yabuki improves his record to 13-3 (12 KOs), while Teraji adds a loss to his record at 18-1.
