    Satoshi Shimizu loses to Robeisy Ramírez

    On July 25, 2023, a 37-year-old Satoshi Shimizu (11-1, 10 KOs) got a shot at the featherweight WBO title held by 29-year-old Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramírez (12-1, 7 KOs).

    Shimizu came in to the fight on a 3-fight win streak with a 83% KO rate, and was fighting after a gap of 7 months and 12 days. Ramírez was on a 12-fight win streak with a 53% KO rate, and fighting after a layoff of 3 months and 24 days.

    Robeisy Ramírez stopped Satoshi Shimizu via TKO in the final round of the 12-round world-title fight, and successfully defended his WBO featherweight title. Ramírez improves his record to 13-1 (8 KOs), while Shimizu adds a loss to his record at 11-2.

    On July 12, 2019, a 33-year-old Satoshi Shimizu (8-0, 8 KOs) and Joe Noynay met in the ring in a super-featherweight bout.

    Shimizu came in to the fight on a 8-fight win streak with a 100% KO rate, and was fighting after a gap of 7 months and 9 days.

    Satoshi Shimizu lost to Joe Noynay via TKO in the 6th round, and adds a loss to his record at 8-1.
